Service
Description
Home
Helpers provides personalized non-medical care. Our services assist
people who require assistance with daily activities and can be
provided anywhere an individual may live…….in their home, in the
hospital, rehabilitation center, nursing home, retirement community,
etc.
Our
Services Focus On:
Companionship: A
friendly face, a helping hand, an encouraging voice. Having a
Caregiver in the home provides assistance for the care receiver
and peace of mind for the family. From conversation to cards,
reading aloud to going for walks, our Caregivers focus on providing
social and physical stimulation to keep people active and engaged.
Personal
Care: Dressing, grooming, bathing and hygiene are all
activities our Caregivers are skilled at providing. These activities
can be challenging as a result of age, injury or illness and
often people need varying levels of assistance. For some a watchful
eye maybe needed, for others it may be transferring as well as
hands on assistance. Whatever the situation, our Caregivers
can help people with the appropriate level of assistance and
encouragement needed to receive the care that is needed.
General
Assistance: Everyday chores can become more and more
difficult to accomplish. Our Caregivers can assist with housekeeping,
laundry, linens, sorting the mail, grocery shopping, checking
the refrigerator for expired items, watering plants, and assisting
with pets. These are just a few of the activities our Caregivers
most commonly perform to make life easier for you and your loved
ones.
Meal
Preparation: Many seniors need to maintain their weight
for health reasons but preparing meals may become increasingly
more difficult. Our Caregivers are conscientious as to what
our clients enjoy and will happily prepare meals to their liking.
Additionally, we have found that many of our clients like their
“big” meal of the day at lunch time or early afternoon. In this
situation our Caregiver is available to assist and enjoy conversation
which can often be encouraging and pleasant for the senior.
In the past, we have also had Caregivers pre-prepare dinner meals
which our client can enjoy with their entire family at dinnertime.
Transportation: Keeping
up with a regular routine and keeping active are imperative to
preserving independence. Whether getting to and from appointments,
running errands, visiting the hairdresser, enjoying lunch at a
nearby favorite spot or just going for a ride in the car our Caregivers
assist people as they prepare for their outing, provide transportation,
accompany them while out and help them get settled on their return.
